Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Now, we’re looking for a Principal Electronics Engineer (analgoue) to help architect and design the next generation of high-performance analytical instrumentation.

The Opportunity

You’ll play a key role in developing sophisticated electronics that sit at the heart of our electron microscopy solutions—where precision, signal integrity, and low-noise design are mission-critical.

  • Working in a multidisciplinary R&D team, you’ll design, test, and deliver advanced electronics systems that directly impact how our customers visualise and analyse the microscopic world.
  • You will also be instrumental in developing the skills and competencies within the electronics team, helping to mentor more junior engineers to fulfil their potential.

What You’ll Do

  • Take ownership of electronics design solutions across new product development projects
  • Design analogue, digital, and low-noise circuitry supporting precision detectors and acquisition systems
  • Develop and validate designs through simulation, prototyping, and rigorous testing
  • Write embedded code and contribute to FPGA development (VHDL) for high-speed data handling
  • Collaborate closely with physicists, software engineers, and system architects
  • Provide “go to” expertise on electronics issues for the wider technology team
  • Mentor colleagues to develop their skills in using electronics tools and methodologies
  • Support transfer to manufacturing and ensure robust, maintainable documentation
