Principal Engineer
Summary: Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, Statom are seeking a proactive, experienced, positive and confident individual to help deliver the highest standards of Engineering and Technical Competencies within the industry. We are looking for a team player that finds solutions and relishes new challenges.
The role has many facets including: Providing site technical support to the project teams ensuring technical compliance, Training and development of the Engineers, Temporary Works site support and auditing, as well as supporting our existing Quality leadership team in delivering the highest quality standards.
Role & Responsibilities
Site Technical Support – Drawing on your experience to support Project Managers and Engineers in developing technical solutions on live projects Site Technical Compliance and Technical Planning – Working closely with site teams to ensure all process (ITPs, IRS’s TW Registers, fieldview forms etc) are up to date, site specific, well populated and fit for purpose. Temporary Works Support and Auditing – Bringing a firm but fair, objective view during auditing, as well as adding value and support during other times, working with the teams to ensure compliance and best practice in the field of Temporary Works. Linking Design and Delivery – Working with the Engineering Director to ensure a smooth flow of information in both Temporary and Permanent works design, during tender, preconstruction and delivery phases. Provide Design Management support as required. Technical/Commercial Compliance – Ensuring we follow our commercial plans and provide solutions that comply with our budgets, working closely with commercial teams on changes and variations HS&E Champion – Taking a ‘Don’t Walk By’ attitude and always having HS&E at the forefront of your mind. Upholding the highest standards. Supporting Professional Development – Commitment to develop others in the Professional training and development journey, taking due consideration to Equality and Diversity needs of all people. Preconstruction and Relationships – Provide technical bid support and assist in managing close relationships with key clients and technical design teams.

Requirements
Requirements:
At Least 8 years site experience and must have at least lead projects at either Senior or Project Engineer level - Must have RC Frames, Deep Basements & Groundworks construction experience within residential & commercial sectors as well as Heavy Civil and Infrastructure. (We work across a spectrum of sectors) Temporary Works Expertise Essential – In Design and Delivery – Previous Experience as a TWC Essential. Deep Knowledge of Temporary Works from first principles essential. Must understand Peri and Hunnebeck equipment and be familiar with Slipform, Scaffold, timber shuttering, deep excavations, working platforms, basement propping and precast. Must be experienced in design management and design development, from RIBA Stages 3 to 6. Construction based Degree Qualified. Essential. Must be a Chartered Civil Engineer either IEng or CEng level. UK Experience Essential – Must have an existing Right to work in the UK - No Sponsorship of Visa requests please. Must already be working in the UK and have worked in the UK for at least 6 years. SMSTS, 1st Aid – Beneficial but not Essential. Valid CSCS card Essential
