You will lead and manage roads and infrastructure projects, or act as design manager or civil technical lead as part of a multidisciplinary project, for major trunk road improvements, local road improvements, renewable energy infrastructure, placemaking, active travel and public realm schemes.

You Will Be Responsible For

  • Leading and project managing roads and infrastructure projects ensuring quality, safety, and compliance with standards.
  • Taking responsibility for design management and coordination to deliver integrated design solutions for our projects.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated and sustainable solutions.
  • Ensuring deliverables are carried out within agreed timescales and budgets.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
  • Engaging with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide expert advice.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports, feasibility studies and design documentation.
  • Driving technical excellence across project delivery.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • A relevant professional qualification, for example a degree in engineering.
  • CEng certification.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate different design options to internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to lead project teams effectively and support their technical development.
  • A desire to learn, progress and challenge yourself.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
