Principal Installation Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Principal Installation Engineer to join our Installation and Project Engineering discipline within Global Project Centre (GPC) Engineering on a permanent contract.
You will:
- Represent the discipline during tenders and projects
- Act as the conduit for technical challenges
- Maintain and develop discipline expertise and new capabilities
Primary focus:
- Leading the installation of subsea structures, mooring systems, riser systems, flexible flowlines, and/or umbilicals/flying leads
- Preparing project scopes and supporting offshore crews during operations
- Ensuring seamless integration between clients, suppliers, offshore teams, and design teams
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the following key activities:
- Lead installation work packages on Tenders, FEEDs, or Projects
- Deliver scopes within budget, quality, and timeframe standards
- Manage technical and commercial scope changes
- Lead a team of engineers while contributing to their professional development
- Serve as the technical point of contact for installation subject matter experts
- Oversee engineering activities for product preparation and installation
- Validate concepts and manage changes while upholding HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) criteria
- Take ownership of a specialised area of technical expertise
- Contribute to updates or developments in corporate standards and guidelines

Required Experience
You should demonstrate knowledge and expertise in the following areas:
Technical Focus
Maintain expertise in two or more of these domains:
- Subsea structures installation
- Hook-ups or pull-ins
- Riser systems
- Flexible flowlines
- Umbilicals/flying leads
Desirable:
- Experience in mooring installation (shore-pull and other methods)
- Deep/ultra-deep water installation expertise
- Relevant offshore operational experience

Project & Contract Management
- Proven experience in tender and project execution
- Hands-on experience in contractual/project management
- Developing operational documentation:
- Standards, procedures
- Task plans
- Rigging design

- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Strong multi-tasking, prioritisation, planning, and executional coordination
- Excellent communication skills
- Leadership to coordinate/lead teams (including managing workloads)
- Flexibility to work with diverse organisational cultures and behaviours
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken)
