Principal Family & Systemic Psychotherapist

Principal Family & Systemic Psychotherapist – Community Children and Young People’s (CYPS) Mental Health Team

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Family & Systemic Psychotherapist with advanced clinical skills and leadership experience to join our Community Children and Young People’s (CYPS) Mental Health Team based at the Aldershot Centre for Health, North East Hampshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established, welcoming, multi-skilled team supporting the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people with a range of emotional, behavioural, and complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist systemic assessments and psychotherapy for young people with complex mental health needs
  • Offer supervision and consultation to team members, ensuring high-quality clinical practice
  • Provide clinical leadership and direct systemic input within a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, nurses, therapists, and support workers
  • Collaborate with schools, GPs, local authorities, and other partners to deliver coordinated and person-centred care
  • Coordinate closely with adjacent services, including:
    • Eating Disorder Service
    • Hope Service
    • Crisis Intervention Team
    • Early Intervention in Psychosis Team
  • Work with the team manager to support and develop the team, while maintaining an active clinical role
  • Work in partnership with the consultant family & systemic psychotherapist to deliver strategic leadership, governance, and service development across the trust

Requirements & Qualifications

  • A qualified family & systemic psychotherapist status, such as membership with the UK Council for Psychotherapy
