Here at Burendo we are seeking an experienced Principal Full Stack Engineer with a proven ability to lead L2/L3 support teams across a diverse range of applications and ecosystems. You will ideally have experience in managed service operations, along with proficiency in multiple programming languages and cloud platforms. In this role, you will act as the technical authority for the team, driving best practices and ensuring high-quality service delivery, while also providing leadership, mentoring team members, and building effective relationships with stakeholders across the business. Act as the highest technical escalation point within a managed service function Set and maintain engineering standards across teams within the service Lead the management and resolution of complex L2/L3 incidents Lead root cause analysis and post-incident investigations for major incidents Own service onboarding from a technical readiness perspective Participate in an on-call rota, including out-of-hours incident response Mentor and support the development of engineers at all experience levels Work with service delivery colleagues to manage client relationships Must-Have Skills & Experience Knowledge of at least one of the following: Java, Python, Node.js, or C# Hands-on cloud architecture experience with either AWS or Azure Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform Understanding of ITIL practices Recent experience leading engineering teams Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience Knowledge of highly available architectures Experience with Postgres or other relational database systems Exposure to front-end technologies such as React.js Experience working in public sector or regulated data environments 25 days Annual Leave (plus bank holidays) An additional day of paid leave for celebrations 1 additional day of holiday after 2 years' service (26 days total) and another 2 days after 5 years (28 days total) Monthly Wellness Allowance Annual Learning and Development Allowance Paid time off for Life Events Matched Employer Contributed Pension (5%) Life assurance based on 4 x your salary Access to an Employee Assistance Programme Enhanced Family Leave Enhanced company sick pay A range of optional Salary Sacrifice benefits (inc EV Scheme, Home and Tech, Cycle to Work and Pension) Exciting calendar of Burendo social events and activities We are committed to promoting equal opportunities in employment.
