About The Team
The AI Practice Delivery team sits within Workday’s Professional Services organization, focusing on helping customers realize tangible business value from Workday AI across HCM and Financials. Our functional consultants collaborate directly with HR, Finance, and IT stakeholders to:
- Design AI-enabled business processes
- Define use cases
- Guide change management and adoption
We partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Engagement Management to ensure every AI deployment is grounded in:
- Strong functional design
- Robust data foundations
- A clear story for end users
Our work has a high visibility impact, helping some of Workday’s most complex global customers transition from AI concepts to intuitive, responsible, and impactful day-to-day workflows.
About The Role
As a Principal Functional AI Practice Delivery Consultant, you will:
- Act as the primary functional architect for end-to-end AI transformations for complex customers
- Design solutions integrating Workday Native AI Agents, Workday Agent Platform, and Sana integration with real HR and Finance processes and business outcomes
- Serve as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, designing AI-enabled process and operating models
- Lead functional workstreams through preparation, activation, and adoption

Key Responsibilities
Solution Design
- Design comprehensive AI-enabled solutions across the Workday ecosystem
- Ensure a tight alignment between Native AI Agents, custom agents on the Workday Agent Platform, and Sana’s knowledge capabilities within HR and Finance workflows
Strategic Advisory
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior HR, Finance, and IT leaders
- Translate AI capabilities into clear business value, outcome-driven roadmaps, and adoption plans
Functional Leadership
- Lead functional workstreams for AI initiatives
- Requirements discovery
- Process design
- Configuration guidance
- Data readiness
- User experience considerations
Innovation & Feedback
- Partner with Product and Engineering to share field insights influencing:
- Evolution of Workday’s AI agents
- Platform features
- Sana integration patterns
Ecosystem Alignment
- Collaborate with technical and integration teams for:
- Appropriate data models
- Security considerations
- Integration patterns with third-party systems
About You
Basic Qualifications (Principal Level - P5)
- 10+ years of experience in enterprise software consulting or functional implementation (e.g., Workday HCM, Financials, or similar), including leading complex, multi-country or multi-business-unit projects
- 2+ years of experience designing or delivering AI-enabled or analytics-driven solutions in an enterprise context (e.g., AI agents, intelligent automation, advanced analytics, or ML-powered features)

Basic Qualifications (Senior Level - P4)
- 7+ years of experience in enterprise software consulting or functional implementation (e.g., Workday HCM, Financials, or similar), including leading complex, multi-country or multi-business-unit projects
- 1+ year of experience designing or delivering AI-enabled or analytics-driven solutions in an enterprise context
Other Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong business acumen to understand HR and Financials strategies, define AI-enabled use cases, and connect AI to measurable business outcomes
- Deep functional knowledge of Workday HCM and/or Financials (configuration, business processes, security, reporting, and analytics)
- Experience in solutions design, including leading discovery and design workshops to translate business requirements into AI workflows, agent behaviors, and governance models
- Background in professional services or consulting, with experience in:
- Managing high-risk-aligned client delivery
- Collaborating in multi-disciplinary project teams (e.g., engagement management, technical, change management)
- Excellent communication skills to:
- Explain complex AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Maintain credibility with technical and product partners
- Decision-making and process improvement using data and deployment feedback
- Growth mindset for continuous development in AI, agentic workflows, and Workday Ethical AI Principles
Preferred:
- Certification in Workday HCM or Financials professional qualifications
- Exposure to cloud-first enterprise platforms.
