Our Sustainable Water Management Team is growing, and we are seeking Hydraulic / Flood Risk Modellers who want to make a real impact.
A Role With Real Influence
You will play a key role in delivering our national programme of flood risk work, supporting major infrastructure, FCERM studies, and strategic projects across government, water, transport and energy sectors.
This is your opportunity to take on a technical role that will influence project direction, collaborate across disciplines, and help develop our national hydraulic modelling capability.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
- Lead fluvial and pluvial modelling using software such as:
- Flood Modeller
- TUFLOW
- HEC-RAS
- Infoworks ICM
- Provide technical leadership, coordinate flood studies and develop modelling approaches.
- Review hydraulic models to ensure technical quality and statutory compliance.

Reporting & Engagement
- Prepare clear technical reports, presentations and project deliverables.
- Lead or support proposal writing, opportunity monitoring and business development.
- Engage with clients, regulators and stakeholders to drive project success.
Essential Requirements
- Strong track record in fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling.
- Experience in providing technical leadership and reviewing models for statutory bodies.
- Commercial awareness, including project management and bid support.
- Commitment to working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience in infrastructure, local authority, or national government projects.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trusted client relationships.
- Chartered status (or close to it) with a relevant professional body (e.g., CIWEM, ICE).
Useful Additional Skills:
- GIS expertise
- FCERM studies experience
- Flood Risk Assessments
- UK flood modelling methods (e.g., Regulatory Assessment Framework)
- Relevant flood policy knowledge
