Want to make a real impact in flood risk management? We’re looking for a talented Senior Hydraulic / Flood Risk Modeller to join our growing team and help deliver national flood resilience programmes.
About the Role
You’ll play a key technical role in delivering fluvial and pluvial modelling across infrastructure, government, water, transport, and energy projects. This is the chance to shape national hydraulic capabilities, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and influence project outcomes with your expertise.

Your Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership in key areas:
- Use software like Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, or Infoworks ICM to monitor and improve fluvial and pluvial models.
- Coordinate flood modelling studies, examining modelling methods and strategies.
- Review hydraulic models to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
- Create technical reports, presentations and project deliverables and support leading proposal submissions and bid opportunities.
- Engage with clients, regulators, and external stakeholders to drive positive project outcomes.
Your Skills & Experience
We’re looking for a Water Professional who demonstrates:
- Extensive fluvial and pluvial modelling experience to deliver models on major projects.
- Technical leadership in flood modelling, including reviews for statutory bodies and government agreements.
- Commercial awareness including managing projects and supporting bids.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and build strong client relations.
- Experience working with infrastructure schemes, local authorities, private clients or government projects.
- Strong communication skills for engagements across the board.
- It’s a plus if you have GIS, FCERM studies, Flood Risk Assessment, flood policy or flood estimation methods knowledge.
- Chartered status (or close to securing it) with a relevant professional body, is strongly encouraged.
