The Role: Principal Investigator (Anti-Fraud and Investigations Team)
Camden’s commitment to equality extends to safeguarding the public purse through rigorous fraud prevention and anti-fraud initiatives. This role focuses on leading high-quality corporate investigations—proactive and reactive—within the Anti-Fraud and Investigations Team (AFIT).
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigation Leadership: Independently manage multiple concurrent investigations, ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance, including adherence to the Anti-Fraud Strategy and Whistleblowing Policy.
- Partnerships and Collaboration: Engage with Internal Audit, Risk Management, and external agencies (e.g., police, Department for Work and Pensions, London Borough Fraud Networks) to SHARE intelligence and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Proactive Work: Drive data analytics-driven investigations to PREVENT fraud before it occurs.
- Skill Development: Lead fraud awareness workshops across Council directorates, reinforcing a culture of integrity and proactive fraud detection.
- Reporting Excellence: Produce clear, evidence-based investigation reports, deploys exceptional written communication skills.
- High-Stakes Decision Making: Liasion with senior officers to address complex ethical, procedural, and strategic fraud concerns.

Requirements
Ideal Candidate Background:
- Proven experience in public/private sector investigations, with expertise in:
- Conducting in-depth interviews, coordinating with police, agencies, or legal counsel.
- Accredited investigative qualifications (or equivalent, e.g., Diploma in Investigations).
- Passion for ethical fiscal stewardship (a core Camden value) and proactively preventing fraud.
- Essential Skills:
- Multitasking expertise to prioritise competing investigations while preserving diligence.
- Advanced problem-solving with analytical acumen to explore complex fraud schemes.
- Andy Skills (longlist advantage):
- Technical proficiency with fraud detection software or data analytics tools.
- Subject-matter knowledge of Fraud Regulations or related legislation (e.g., Bribery Act).
- Publication or contribution to policy initiatives on fraud prevention.
Essential Attributes:
- Leadership: Manage individuals and projects professionally, handling sensitive information responsibly.
- Confidentiality: Discretion in handling restricted distinctions.
- Communication: Oral/written fluency in توصيل intricate findings to leaders and stakeholders.
