Principal IT/AV Consultant
The Team
Our dedicated IT Consultancy plays a key role in digitally enabling the built environment, providing a technologically enhanced environment tailored to clients' needs. We pride ourselves on being market leaders in our field, working globally with high-profile clients across fintech, HQ offices, smart campuses, and smart buildings. Our reputation has led to us advising on global technology benchmarking and technological certification of buildings.
We operate across sectors including workspace and residential, mission-critical and academia, having influenced the new technical approach for UK schools and assessed smart systems for Muscat in Oman. Our team is based in Central London, next to St Paul’s Cathedral.
The Role
Join us as an experienced IT Consultant, taking a leading role in ensuring the successful delivery of innovative design solutions while providing technical and team leadership.
You’ll collaborate with the wider Cundall team and external partners, working closely with mult-disciplinary colleagues to manage technically excellent and successful projects. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing engineers to deliver designs
- Conducting technical reviews
- Engaging with stakeholders at all levels
- Monitoring fees and programmes
- Contributing to QA processes
- Establishing project deliverables
- Mentoring and work-winning activities
- Motivating and inspiring junior engineers
- Partnering with senior management in a collaborative, supportive environment

The Skills
- Educational background: Working towards or holding Chartered Engineer status, with a degree (MEng, BEng, or BSc) in Electronics Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
- Ideal experience: Significant background in IT consultancy or engineering, focusing on IT design and delivery. While aptitude will be developed, candidates should demonstrate:
- Consistent project management (small- to medium-scale)
- Proven ability to lead junior engineers to exceed client expectations
- Skills in producing schematic diagrams, writing specifications, utilising site inspections, and detail design
- Experience in project reports and stakeholder engagement
- Familiarity with WiredScore or technical benchmarking for sustainable buildings (plus innovative ideas on transitioning clients to future standards)
- Professional affiliation: Membership of IET, BCS, BICSI (RCDD), or similar is beneficial.
