As part of our dedicated data centre team—established in 2006 and delivering over 2,000MW of capacity worldwide—you will join a specialist team driving innovation and excellence in high-profile global projects.


About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced and client-focused Principal Engineer specialising in mechanical design to join our data centre team.

You will bring strong technical expertise (without needing prior data centre experience) and contribute to:

  • High-profile data centre projects globally
  • Technical strategy development
  • Client engagement, design reviews, and delivery leadership

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate mechanical design solutions, including:
    • HVAC/Fridge (Air-conditioning)
    • Chilled water systems
    • Ventilation
    • Equipment selection
    • Public health & building management systems
  • Produce mechanical designs for HVAC, public health, and building management systems
  • Prepare technical specifications, schedules, calculations, project reports, and supporting documentation
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys to inform design development
  • Develop and coordinate detailed design solutions in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Contribute to internal/external project meetings, providing technical expertise and progress updates
  • Assist with fee proposals and business development activities
  • Support junior engineers’ careers through mentorship
  • Work with regional and international offices to deliver projects efficiently

Requirements & Qualifications

Essential

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • A consulting engineering background, seeking a role with greater responsibility and impact
  • Strong initiative, problem-solving, and collaborative mindset
  • Open to growth—no prior data centre experience required; mentoring available

Ideal

  • Chartered status (or working towards it)
  • Experience in high-tech consulting environments
