DiPOLE Systems | Harwell Campus, Didcot

DiPOLE Systems is developing advanced laser systems for deployment in manufacturing, energy and defence. We’re now scaling our engineering team to turn proven laboratory systems into robust, manufacturable products.

We’re hiring a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the mechanical development of next-generation laser systems, working closely with scientists and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

What you’ll do

  • Lead mechanical design from concept through manufacture and deployment
  • Own design trade-offs across performance, reliability and manufacturability
  • Drive structural, thermal and dynamic analysis activities
  • Work closely with optical, electrical and systems engineers
  • Help shape productisation, engineering quality and team growth

  • Strong mechanical CAD and structural design experience
  • Experience developing complex hardware from prototype to manufacture
  • Strong engineering judgement and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
