Principal Mechanical Engineer

Job Description ๐ ๏ธ Support Requirements Capture: Manage and challenge requirements for existing waste containers and interface equipment. ๐ Support Engineering Activities: Assist as defined by the Engineering Manager. ๐ค Mentorship: Provide guidance and assurance to Senior Engineers and Designers. ๐ Determine Engineering Requirements: Assist in defining product requirements. ๐ง Tolerances Understanding: Guide understanding of tolerances on interface drawings. ๐ Compile Documents: Help in compiling Component Requirements Documents. ๐ Site Surveys: Support site surveys and the production/review of survey reports. โ๏ธ DFMEA/PFMEA Support: Assist in Design and Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis. ๐ Review Drawings: Check drawings and documents for accuracy. ๐ Deploy LFE: Identify and apply Lessons Learned from Experience for technical tasks. Qualifications ๐ Experience: High-level technical competency and significant experience in a related field. ๐ Education: HNC (minimum). ๐ก Innovation: Ability to create and develop new ideas. ๐๏ธ Project Documentation: Experience in preparing project documentation, processes, and reports. ๐ค Stakeholder Management: Demonstrable success in managing stakeholders. ๐ Drawing Standards: Strong understanding of BS8888 and ISO-GPS (ISO 8015). ๐ Technical Drawings: Ability to check technical drawings per BS8888 and ISO 8015. ๐ฉ Engineering Background: Deep experience in design, manufacture, material selection, welding, fabrication, and machining techniques. ๐ก๏ธ FMEA Knowledge: Familiarity with DFMEA and PFMEA. ๐ฃ๏ธ Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communicator. Additional Information ๐๏ธ Regulated Industries: Experienced in delivering work for highly regulated industries. โข๏ธ Nuclear Sector: Experience in the nuclear sector. ๐ ๏ธ Nuclear Design: Familiarity or previous design experience with nuclear, including mechanical handling. ๐ป CAD Experience: Experience with CAD (Inventor). ๐ก๏ธ Security Clearance: SC Clearance preferred or ability to obtain SC Clearance.
