Principal Mechanical Engineer
Principal Mechanical Engineer – London
An excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer to progress into a Senior role and contribute significantly to the expansion of a growing M&E team within an International Engineering and Design Consultancy.
Location & Compensation
Location: London Salary: £50,000 – 70,000 (including package benefits)
About the Role
The Resolute Group is partnering with an International Engineering and Design Consultancy to strengthen their M&E team, specialising in Data Centre Projects.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Lead Engineer and project teams to design mechanical systems for data centre construction, ensuring compliance with project requirements and specifications.
- Develop detailed mechanical installation diagrams, coordinating with cross-disciplinary teams to allocate initial equipment and infrastructure space reservations.
- Utilise 3D Revit/BIM software to model mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy, compatibility with other building systems, and alignment with coordinated space reservations.
- Address and resolve design challenges or modifications during construction while maintaining project timelines.
- Actively participate in design reviews and project meetings to provide constructive input, optimising the efficiency and performance of mechanical systems.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, codes, and regulations in mechanical engineering and data centre construction, applying best practices in designs.
- Commit to safety, quality, and sustainability in all mechanical engineering activities (design and construction).

Experience & Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ideally, 5+ years of relevant industry experience, particularly within construction or data centre projects.
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM or CAD software.
