Principal, Medical Affairs Strategy Opportunity based in Toronto, Canada; Yardley, PA (USA), London, UK Hybrid: 3x a week in office Principal, Medical Affairs (Client Development Focus) We are currently recruiting a growth-oriented Principal, Medical Affairs to join our Acumetis team. This role is a critical driver of commercial growth and client impact within our Medical Affairs practice, combining deep scientific and strategic expertise with a strong business development mindset. The Principal will serve as a senior advisor to life sciences clients, shaping and delivering high-value Medical Affairs strategies while actively identifying and securing new business opportunities. This leader will partner closely with biopharma organizations to advance evidence generation, scientific engagement, and medical strategy across the product lifecycle, while helping expand Acumetis’ footprint in the market. Duties and Responsibilities Include: Strategic Leadership: Lead the development and execution of innovative Medical Affairs strategies across therapeutic areas, including launch readiness, evidence generation, and field medical excellence. Business Development & Growth: Drive revenue growth through proactive identification of client needs, shaping opportunities, and leading proposal development, pitches, and contract negotiations. Build and expand a robust pipeline of Medical Affairs engagements. Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Commercial leaders, fostering long-term partnerships and positioning Acumetis as a strategic thought partner. Scientific & Operational Excellence: Oversee the design and delivery of high-impact Medical Affairs programs, including medical strategy, KOL engagement, advisory boards, medical communications, and HEOR/RWE initiatives. Market Insights & Innovation: Leverage deep industry knowledge to provide actionable insights on Medical Affairs trends, including digital engagement, evidence strategy, and evolving regulatory expectations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal service lines (e.g., Insights & Analytics, Patient Services, Commercial Strategy) to deliver integrated solutions aligned to client needs. Team Leadership & Development: Mentor and develop consulting teams, fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring quality delivery and professional growth. Thought Leadership: Contribute to Acumetis’ market presence through publications, conference presentations, and client-facing insights that demonstrate leadership in Medical Affairs. Requirements Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, MBA, MPH, or similar) strongly preferred. Minimum 10+ years of experience in life sciences consulting, pharmaceutical/biotech Medical Affairs, or a related field. Demonstrated expertise across Medical Affairs functions (e.g., field medical, evidence generation, medical strategy, KOL engagement). Proven track record in business development, including leading sales pursuits, developing proposals, and closing deals. Experience managing complex client engagements and delivering measurable strategic impact. Strong leadership, project management, and team development capabilities. Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Deep understanding of compliance, regulatory, and scientific standards within Medical Affairs.
