Your Role
As a Principal Nuclear Safety Engineer in Advanced Engineering Delivery & Consultancy (AEDC), you'll play a vital role in shaping your projects. Working alongside talented colleagues across all disciplines, you'll provide safety case leadership, support and delivery.
Working closely with clients, you'll be trusted to lead the development and implementation of solutions to solve their most complex problems.
Whilst your office base will be in Glasgow, flexibility in work location is a must—from time to time our clients do call on our team to deliver work from their sites.
You will be involved with all aspects of safety case support, including:
- Shaping the nuclear safety case strategy.
- Working closely with project partners to ensure a safety-informed design.
- Engaging with stakeholders to facilitate ‘Right First Time’ delivery (including designers, client, site, and regulatory body (e.g. DNSR, ONR)).
- Undertaking safety assessments and safety analysis (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, HAZAN, etc).
- Producing safety reports and other technical documents (e.g. PSR, PCSR, ALARP reports, etc).
- Support to Engineering Substantiation activities.
- Managing/Leading Safety Case activities and teams.
About You
You have a proven track record in safety, ideally within the defence and nuclear domain, or other highly regulated industries. You are ready to make the next step in your career and to join a team that will provide opportunities for growth.

Qualifications:
- Honours Degree (or equivalent) in physics, mechanical engineering, or closely related discipline (2:1 minimum).
- Chartered (or working towards Chartership status).
- Technical practitioner in the Nuclear/Defence domains, able to demonstrate good engineering judgement with experience in applying fundamental engineering principles.

Additional Information
Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
