About The Role
As a Principal Operations Process Engineer you will be responsible for leading the successful delivery of all Process Engineering requirements across either a single large and complex project or multiple medium-sized projects. This includes ensuring technical excellence, compliance with standards, and alignment with project objectives.
You will report to the Project Manager and be located at Westlakes.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading improvements at functional and strategic levels using Lean tools to deliver sustainable business changes
- Strategy development to drive operational excellence; X-matrix, balanced scorecards, KPI's
- Ensuring projects and change processes are aligned to business strategic goals
- Using business KPIs to initiate and drive changes to increase efficiency
- Drive efficiency improvement, policy and procedure development and strategy tightening and alignment
- Strategic development of Programs 3–5-year tactical plan ensuring alignment to KDM's and longer-term business strategic aims.
- Management of short-term tactical plan into operational delivery schedules ensuring achievability of KDM's, KPM's and KPI's.
- Forecasting business needs and instruction on works required ensuring feedstock of available work faces.
- Management of MPS's including recovery plans and reporting to all levels of the business.
- Collaborative program wide stakeholder engagement and management

Qualifications
- At least 10+ years' experience in industry, at least 3 years at Senior Engineer level
- Ideally 5+ years in the nuclear industry or other highly regulated sector
- Proven knowledge of theories, principles, practices, and techniques of process design.
- Strong knowledge in the production of Technical Files for new products / plant and equipment
- Undertake technical tasks and disclose their technical limitations
- Willingness to mentor more junior engineers
- Work well with all levels of management and support staff
- Attitude and a 'can do' approach to problem solving
- Work effectively in a team
- Reinforces nuclear professionalism, and in particular Health, Safety and Environment Standards
