About The Role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal or Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Bristol office.

It's an exciting time to join our Bristol team. We have a well-established reputation for delivering outstanding design on built environment projects throughout Bristol, the Southwest, and further afield. As our second-largest office, Bristol is home to more than 100 MEP engineers, and a growing range of specialist disciplines.

As a Principal / Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities.

A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members.

What You’ll Be Doing

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative, and timely approach to delivery. This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating / translating the brief within the project team.
  • Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
  • Mentor and support our ‘next gen’ professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

About You

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
  • Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux, and Relux.
  • Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors / architects in a design-oriented / consultant role.
  • Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity
  • Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
