Principal Property Lawyer - Locum
Greater Manchester
£60-65 per hour
Long-term Contract (4+ months, likely extension) Hybrid
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Principal Property Lawyer to join a well-regarded local authority legal team in Manchester on a long-term temporary basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on a broad range of complex and high-value property matters within a collaborative Regeneration Group environment. The team handles significant development and regeneration projects, including multi-million-pound and multi-phase transactions, offering exposure to challenging and rewarding legal work.
The Role
You will provide expert legal advice on a wide variety of property and regeneration matters, supporting major development initiatives and working closely with colleagues across planning, highways, commercial, construction, and regeneration teams.

The wider legal team also delivers services to a range of public sector organizations including local authorities, combined authorities, housing providers, academies, and other public bodies.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing complex property and regeneration transactions
- Advising on acquisitions, disposals, development agreements, and commercial property matters
- Supporting large-scale regeneration projects
- Working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary legal and professional teams
- Providing high-quality legal advice to public sector clients
About You
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive
- Strong experience in commercial property and regeneration work
- Previous local government/public sector experience desirable
- Able to manage complex caseloads independently
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
