Band 8a Principal Psychologist 0.6 WTE for Complications of Excess Weight Service (CEW)

Post will be based at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.

About the Role

The post forms part of the larger team for Psychological Medicine for Children, Young People, and Families, based within Addenbrookes Hospital and employed by Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy to children, young people, and their families.
  • Offer advice and consultation on patients’ psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers.
  • Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
  • Utilize research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research.
  • Liaison with a range of relevant agencies and teams to develop understanding of the current challenges and make appropriate and timely referrals to appropriate local services.
  • Delivery of assessment and intervention is via Microsoft Teams platform.
