An exciting position has arisen to join a dedicated Research group that specialises in AI, ML and Data Science and is focused on developing solutions to mission focused problems in a national security context.
This role would suit someone with commercial and technical leadership experience who enjoys problem solving and working with high levels of autonomy.
The Role
The Principal Researcher will be responsible for the design and planning of multiple research projects some of which will be internal and others for a key customer. You will contribute to the research group’s broader strategy, bring new ideas to help drive competitive advantage while working with customers to triage opportunities and determine appropriate technical approaches.

This role will be focused on developing complex data science solutions, delivering ML and AI solutions to problems within defence and the delivery of research and applied AI/ML tasks.
Skills
- Academic background in ML, Computer Science, Mathematics or Data Science
- Commercial experience delivering ML solutions
- Good Python skills
- In depth knowledge of AI/ML
- Experience developing ML pipelines with MLOps
- Cloud & Linux experience would be beneficial but not essential
