Principal Security Architect
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)
Industry: Cybersecurity SaaS | Cloud Security | Enterprise Software
For one of our clients, a rapidly growing Cybersecurity SaaS scale-up based in London, we are looking for a Principal Security Architect to define the security strategy and architecture underpinning the company's next generation of cloud-native products.
This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who enjoys solving complex security challenges, influencing engineering strategy, and designing secure platforms that can scale globally.
You'll work closely with engineering leadership, platform teams, product managers, and cloud engineers to ensure security is embedded into every layer of the technology stack while enabling rapid product innovation.

What You'll Be Working On
- Defining the long-term security architecture and technical strategy for cloud-native platforms
- Designing secure, scalable architectures for enterprise SaaS products
- Leading threat modelling, architecture reviews, and security design decisions
- Driving Zero Trust, identity, and access management initiatives across engineering teams
- Partnering with platform and software engineers to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle
- Defining security standards, policies, and engineering best practices
- Supporting compliance with frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and customer security requirements
- Mentoring senior engineers and acting as the principal technical authority for cloud security architecture

Experience Required
- 10+ years in Security Engineering, Security Architecture, Cloud Security, or DevSecOps
- Extensive experience designing secure cloud-native architectures in AWS or Azure
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes, networking, identity management, encryption, and distributed systems
- Strong knowledge of secure software development and Infrastructure as Code
- Experience influencing technical strategy across multiple engineering organisations
- Proven ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and business stakeholders

Nice to Have
- Multi-cloud architecture experience
- Policy-as-Code tools such as OPA or Kyverno
- Kubernetes security and service mesh technologies
- Security automation and detection engineering experience
- CISSP, CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, Azure Security Engineer, or similar certifications
- Experience working within high-growth SaaS or cybersecurity companies
