Do you thrive on shaping secure systems at scale, influencing senior stakeholders, and developing the next generation of security architects?
Leonardo UK is seeking a Principal Security Architecture Consultant to join our Cyber & Security Solutions Division. This is a senior role for proven security professionals who can combine deep technical expertise with consultancy leadership driving secure-by-design outcomes across critical national and defence environments.

-
Drive secure architecture at scale
- Define and assure enterprise, solution, and system-level security architectures
- Apply and tailor security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, SABSA and Zero Trust principles
- Ensure systems are secure by design, proportionate, and aligned to mission objectives
-
Own risk and assurance outcomes
- Lead threat modelling, risk identification, and mitigation strategies across programmes
- Provide authoritative guidance on risk trade-offs and security posture
- Oversee security assurance, accreditation, and compliance activities (e.g., MOD, NCSC)
- Ensure architectural traceability from requirements through to controls and implementation

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
