Key Responsibilities
- Define and evolve the overall software architecture and technology vision for the organisation.
- Provide deep technical guidance to multiple engineering teams across projects.
- Lead the design and delivery of large-scale distributed systems that integrate AI and data services.
- Champion engineering excellence, establishing standards for code quality, performance, and reliability.
- Collaborate with product and AI leadership to align software strategy with company goals.
- Review and approve major architectural decisions and technology selections.
- Mentor and coach Lead Engineers, elevating technical capability across the organisation.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and introduce innovative approaches that improve our software delivery.
- Ensure best practices in security, observability, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure are embedded throughout the engineering function.
- Represent the engineering organisation externally — at conferences, client meetings, and community events.

Required Skills & Experience
- 8+ years’ experience designing, building, and scaling enterprise-grade software systems.
- Deep technical expertise across the full stack, with mastery in Python, TypeScript/React, and cloud-native architectures.
- Proven experience architecting distributed systems and integrating AI services or data platforms.
- Experience setting technical direction, establishing patterns, and guiding multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of DevOps, infrastructure as code, and microservices design.
- Track record of mentoring senior engineers and leading technical communities.
- Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strategic thinker - capable of balancing innovation, quality, and delivery speed.

This role is hybrid and we come into our London based office 3 days a week.
