We are seeking an exceptional Principal Software Engineer to play a key role in the design, delivery and evolution of complex software solutions within a high-performing engineering environment.
This is a hands-on technical leadership position suited to an experienced engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems, defining technical direction, and mentoring other engineers while remaining actively involved in software delivery.
You'll work closely with engineering teams, stakeholders and business leaders to design scalable, cloud-native solutions and establish engineering best practices across a diverse portfolio of projects.
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will:
- Lead the design and delivery of complex software solutions from inception through to production.
- Define technical strategy, architecture and engineering standards across projects.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Drive software quality, scalability, security and performance across platforms.
- Champion modern engineering practices, tooling and development methodologies.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology selection.
- Support the growth and development of engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
- Remain hands-on in software design, development and technical problem solving.

Technical Experience:
You will be an accomplished software engineer with a strong foundation in designing and delivering large-scale, business-critical applications.
We are interested in candidates with significant commercial experience in C#/.NET, Java or Python, gained within complex engineering environments.

You should have a proven track record of designing scalable application architectures, developing modern web-based systems, and building high-quality software that delivers measurable business value.
Experience working with technologies such as React and TypeScript, alongside RESTful APIs, SQL databases and distributed systems, is highly desirable, as is a strong understanding of modern software design principles and architectural patterns.
You will also bring experience delivering software within cloud environments, including Azure or AWS, and have a solid appreciation of cloud-native architectures, automation, security, resilience and operational excellence.
