Principal Software Engineer

Staff Software Engineer - Security

£120,000 - £135,000 | UK / Ireland Based - Fully Remote

This role is unlike most security engineering positions—you won’t just be bolting on scanning tools; you’ll be building the trusted security layer the software industry depends on.

We’re hiring for a $100M-backed security startup that provides a fully managed, multi-tenant service trusted by multi-language, container, and OS ecosystems to secure and deploy software at Fortune 500 scale.

What You’ll Work On

You’ll construct and maintain the core security infrastructure that provides:

  • Fast, reliable pipeline processing of industry-standard security feeds
  • Real-time policy enforcement and visibility for global-scale shipping workflows

Specifically, your responsibilities include:

  • Designing and shipping key security features for:
    • The enterprise management platform
    • Underlying high-performance APIs
  • Integrating and maintaining security data feeds (vulnerability databases, vulnerability intelligence, and threat feed input)
  • Collaborating with product, design, and customer success to tackle hard supply chain security challenges
  • Ensuring end-to-end product quality with rigorous testing, monitoring, and sustainable engineering practices at scale
  • Measuring impact on customer value, not just ticket velocity

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
