Principal Software Engineer

Leeds / Hybrid

High-Growth Technology Consultancy

Market Led Salary

We're working with a rapidly growing technology consultancy that's proving you don't have to sacrifice culture for scale. While the business continues to expand and win major client programmes, it has retained the collaborative, customer-first mindset that made it successful in the first place.

This isn't a consultancy built on body-shopping or endless layers of process. It's a business that prides itself on delivering real outcomes, building trusted client relationships, and creating an environment where talented engineers can do their best work.

They're now looking for a Principal Software Engineer to help lead the next stage of growth. This role is ideally suited to someone who has already built a successful career within consulting, has seen what great looks like across multiple organisations, and is passionate about sharing that experience with others.

You'll be the kind of person who's been there, done it, learned the lessons, and now wants to help shape engineering teams, influence technical strategy, and raise the bar across the business. You'll bring credibility, pragmatism, and leadership, while helping to develop the next generation of engineers and consultants.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
