Staff Engineer / Principal Engineer / Lead Engineer – Full Stack
Location: Primarily UK remote, transitioning to hybrid in the Manchester area by 2027 (also hybrid in the Portsmouth area available). Remote-first options depending on cultural and operational fit.
About the Role
Lead Forensics, a leading UK-based SAAS company specialising in the B2B sales and marketing space, is seeking a Staff-level Full Stack Software Engineer / Software Developer to join our growing team building customer-facing products.
In this role, you will take on a technical leadership position, steering projects from requirements capture and system design through to full implementation. You’ll work across our modern tech stack, delivering features rapidly while adhering to DevSecOps best practices in a fast-moving production environment.
A ** deep technical proficiency in TypeScript** (5+ years of professional experience) is essential, as we build and operate systems spanning:
- Node.js microservices
- Vue (frontend)
- Redis
- SQL Server & SingleStore
- Cloud deployment in AWS
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define solution design, scoping, and system architecture.
- Explore areas of technical uncertainty through spikes and proof-of-concepts (POCs).
- Work with Product Teams to decompose backlog into actionable Epics and Stories.
- Deliver high-quality, production-grade code as both an individual contributor and embedded architect in our Agentic AI environment.
- Ensure the quality, maintainability and robustness of the codebase.
- Provide production support, resolving issues and iterating based on real-world feedback.
- Drive technical ownership for design, architecture and implementation.

Skills & Experience You’ll Bring
Technical Proficiencies (Must-Have)
- Proven 5+ years of hands-on, high-impact experience in TypeScript for enterprise solutions.
- Experience across full stack development, with emphasis on large-scale SaaS platforms.
- Practical knowledge of clean code practices, SOLID principles and common design patterns. -Strong familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps methodologies, with experience deploying changes daily or near-daily in production.
- Ability to ztetank new tools and techniques at speed.
- System scalability: Understanding of how to design systems optimised for performance at scale.
- Commitment to -security-first development, with interest in implementing best-of-breed security practices. -叩jen passion for quality assurance, test automation and intelligent testing strategies.

Education
- Degree in computer science or allied field or equivalent through industry experience.
