Principal Software Engineer - Browser Guard
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Software Engineer - Browser Guard based in the United Kingdom.
Take on a senior engineering role where you'll shape the future of browser-based cybersecurity solutions used by millions of people worldwide. Working within a highly collaborative product development environment, you will lead technical initiatives, influence architectural decisions, and deliver innovative features that enhance online safety. This position offers the opportunity to solve complex engineering challenges while partnering closely with product, UX, QA, and engineering teams. You'll combine deep technical expertise with mentorship, helping elevate engineering standards and drive scalable, high-performance software. Accountabilities
- Design, develop, and deliver next-generation security features for a high-traffic browser extension serving millions of active users.
- Build scalable integrations across products and systems while ensuring performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Lead architectural discussions and make strategic technical decisions that support long-term product growth.
- Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code using modern engineering practices and development methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, UX, QA, and Engineering to deliver roadmap priorities.
- Mentor software engineers through technical leadership, code reviews, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices.
- Solve complex software engineering challenges involving system design, algorithms, and scalable distributed applications.
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity while maintaining exceptional code quality.

Requirements
- Proven experience developing large-scale product applications using React, TypeScript, and Go.
- Strong expertise in software architecture, system design, algorithms, data structures, and modern design patterns.
- Demonstrated success building and scaling products serving millions of users.
- Hands-on experience incorporating AI-assisted development workflows into professional software engineering practices.
- Strong commitment to code quality, automated testing, debugging, maintainability, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with Git, collaborative development workflows, and peer code review processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience mentoring engineers and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
- Self-driven mindset with strong ownership, problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to lead complex technical initiatives.
