Leading technology company in the compute platform space are looking to hire a Senior/Principal Software Engineer to join their web platform team in Cambridge.
This is a hybrid role, so you must live within commutable distance of Cambridge.
They are looking for a highly experienced software engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails to take ownership of pivotal design, architecture, and development work on this key platform – which is the main portal for their customers, in terms of collaboration and sales.

This is an individual contributor role for an experienced, hands-on engineer who leads through influence: setting technical direction, raising the bar through code review, and shipping production code every week alongside the rest of the team.
Key Skills/experience Required
- Expertise in building and operating Ruby applications in production, with a track record of leading Ruby projects from design through to production operations
- Experience scaling complex web applications
- An ability to develop technical strategy, both individually and as part of a team

Highly desirable:
- Experience building and operating real-time services (e.g. WebRTC, Server-Sent Events)
- Experience with monoliths, microservices, and everything in between
- Experience with Go or React
- Involvement in open source software, whether as a maintainer or a contributor
