Principal Solution Architect
Principal Solution Architect
Provides end-to-end solution architecture, customer advisory, and delivery leadership for complex, highly visible, or business-critical Tridion Docs/Tridion One engagements.
Acts as the primary customer-facing lead, responsible for understanding customer problems, shaping requirements, and translating them into scalable, pragmatic solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Acts as the solution architecture lead for complex, highly visible, or business-critical Tridion Docs implementations and similar engagements.
- Assists pre-sale activity, shaping proposals and building credibility.
- Leads customer discovery to understand business problems, goals, and constraints before proposing solutions.
- Shapes and defines business and functional requirements with stakeholders.
- Designs and documents the end-to-end solution architecture.
- Provides architectural oversight across delivery teams to ensure alignment with agreed design and business outcomes.
- Creates and delivers training.
- Supports the Project Management and Leadership teams with escalations.
- Represents the "voice of the customer"— ensuring needs are clear while appropriately challenging them.
- Builds trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
- Translates complex technical concepts into simple, accessible explanations for customers.
- Ensures solutions are pragmatic, scalable, and avoid unnecessary complexity.
- Supports customers through change and adoption, facilitating post-implementation operations.

Required Skills & Experience
- Sound understanding of DITA and structured content concepts, able to make informed architectural and design decisions (mandatory).
- Strong knowledge of structured content management, with extensive experience and passion for the space.
- Experience defining and owning end-to-end solution architecture for enterprise platforms, including system boundaries, workflows, and integration patterns.
- Proven ability to lead customer discovery and shape requirements in complex, ambiguous environments.
- Experience designing or governing information architectures for DITA/XML-based solutions, including metadata, reuse, taxonomy, profiling, and publication structures.
- Experience enabling change within large, complex organizations.
- Understanding of XML and other structured content standards.
- Problem-led mindset—capable of translating challenges into business requirements and designing pragmatic solutions.
- Strong negotiator and technical envisaged in API-based extensions for large-scale systems.
- Highly articulate communicator, able to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Critical problem-solver with innovative solutions.
- Team player, willing to go the extra mile for success and highly adaptable.
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience leveraging AI to improve efficiency and enhance customer experiences.
