What success looks like in this role
A Unisys architect is responsible for the architecture and design of new or enhanced company products and services and for proposed solutions that fit client requirements and position Unisys competitively. Utilizes technical and architectural expertise to drive innovation into company products and services. Provides consulting and selling support to strategic prospects and accounts. Articulates the Unisys value proposition, architects’ custom solutions as needed, and offers thought-leadership to business-oriented, technical, and other audiences. Responsible for translating target market and client business requirements and goals into specific solutions. Designs solutions that achieve financial goals as well as meet or exceed the requirements of service delivery.
This architecture role is to join the UFSS team as a senior architect. UFSS is a mission-critical financial services application used widely in the UK for servicing mortgages and savings. The UFSS architecture team have a hands-on approach to their activities, taking on roles across the lifecycle of the solution including development and operational usage.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee development in.NET parts of the solution from roadmap to requirements to operational usage
- Strong practical attitude, assisting where necessary at each stage
- Troubleshooting at each stage of development and usage
- Discussions with senior stakeholders in Unisys and client to determine Product Roadmap
- Balance of skills in solution architecture between development and operation
- It is important the candidate has security knowledge
- Create high-quality written and visual design and architecture artefacts
- Conduct reviews of design artefacts created by other members of the team
- Participate in pre-sales activities including solutioning, estimation, creation of pre-sales response content
- Provide design and coding guidance to other members as required
- Take ownership of issues and provide guidance to clients and Unisys team members
- Produce prototypes of new solutions and components

You will be successful in this role if you have:
- BA/BS degree and typically 8+ years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Master’s degree preferred
Key Skills:
- .NET Solution Architecture
- Strong understanding of Security and Windows Infrastructure
- Excellent communication (written and spoken) at all levels
- Excellent command of diagramming tools like Microsoft Visio
- Ability to liaise with multiple levels of the organization: Agile teams in India and UK Client technical teams Client and Unisys senior teams Troubleshooting of issues
- Use of AI to create and supplement Products is a nice to have and should be an ambition.
