Principal Solutions Engineer
Role: Principal Solutions Engineer
Salary: £65,000 - £75,000
Location: Birmingham / Remote
Type: Permanent
I'm currently partnering with an established and growing integrated marketing agency to recruit a Principal Solutions Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that combines strategy, creativity, technology, data, and digital expertise to deliver transformational solutions for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the design and delivery of complex, multi-platform solutions across digital, data, marketing, and customer experience environments.
- Defining solution architecture, integration strategies, and engineering best practices.
- Driving the adoption of scalable, secure, and reusable solution frameworks.
- Working closely with client stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Providing technical leadership across cloud platforms, APIs, data integrations, automation, and emerging technologies.
- Supporting business growth through technical consultancy, solution design, and client presentations.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including strategy, digital, creative, development, and data specialists.
- Mentoring engineers and technical teams while helping shape the organisation's technology roadmap.

Required Skills
- Significant experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale digital solutions.
- Strong expertise in solution architecture, systems integration, cloud technologies, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience working across multiple platforms, applications, and data ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of API-led architecture, automation, and scalable technology solutions.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead complex technical discussions.

Desirable Skills
- Experience within a marketing agency, consultancy, digital services, or technology-led organisation.
- Knowledge of marketing technology, customer experience platforms, CRM, analytics, or customer data ecosystems.
- Exposure to AI, automation, and emerging digital technologies.
- Experience supporting business development, proposals, and client-facing solution consulting.
