Outsource UK is partnering with a leading engineering and consultancy organisation to recruit an experienced Principal Structural Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing Structural Engineering team delivering innovative, sustainable, and technically complex projects across the UK and globally.
Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will play a key role in the design, coordination, and delivery of structures across a diverse portfolio of projects within industrial manufacturing, technology, education, government, defence, and commercial sectors.
The Opportunity
As a Principal Structural Engineer, you will lead the structural engineering aspects of major projects, managing technical delivery, project resources, and client relationships while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and coordination of structural engineering projects.
- Manage technical and commercial project delivery.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and BIM specialists.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Review, validate, and assure the quality of engineering outputs.
- Provide technical leadership and contribute to engineering best practice.
- Mentor and support the development of junior engineers and colleagues.
- Champion sustainable engineering solutions and innovative design approaches.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
About you:
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status, ideally with IStructE or ICE.
- Existing SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain SC Clearance.
- Strong technical expertise developed through experience across a variety of structural engineering projects.
- Excellent understanding of structural principles, materials, and construction methods.
- Experience using structural analysis and design software.
- Strong report writing and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and experience reviewing engineering deliverables.
- Demonstrable experience leading teams and managing resources.
- A strong commitment to health, safety, and quality.
- A passion for sustainable design and engineering excellence.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to mentor and develop others.
