Opportunity
This is more than just a job; it’s a mission. We are looking for a skilled Principal Systems Administrator to provide technical guidance, design and administration for key business infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, experience supporting enterprise and key business applications, and an understanding of project management methodologies. Candidate will be responsible for delivering advanced technical solutions, contribute to the development of new principles and concepts, and act as advisor to management and customer on advanced technical research studies and applications.
Responsibilities
- Apply subject matter expertise to provide recommendations regarding systems administration to management and guide other team members as needed
- Contribute to the planning and development of the overall service
- Install, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and resolve system issues as required
- Participate as directed by the System Administration Manager in rosters and other arrangements necessary for the delivery of 24/7 services, undertaking responsibilities as part of the Systems Administration Team On-call rota, working flexibly to deliver out-of-hours planned and unplanned network changes
- Serve as Systems Administration lead on advanced projects and/or programmes
- Contribute to the development of new principles & concepts
- Follow, maintain and disseminate approved procedures, including adherence to ISO20000 & ISO27001 standards
- Collaborate with vendors for application support, upgrades, and issue resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to deployment, infrastructure, and system performance.

We are looking for:
- Strong technical foundation in several of the following technologies:
- VMware vSphere 8.0+
- Fiber Channel Storage Technologies – Dell NetApp
- Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and Citrix Netscalar
- Amazon Web Services/Azure
- Microsoft OS 2019/2022, Exchange and Office 365
- SQL Server administration/database concepts - MS SQL 2019
- Certificate Authorities Administrative experience
- Experience with Linux and Ansible
- Experience with Active Directory Federated trusts
- Familiarity with project management methodologies including ITIL, AGILE and SCRUM
- Sound networking knowledge – TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, MPLS

Security Clearance
Due to the nature of our projects, you must be Sole UK National for this clearance type. You must be able to gain and maintain the relevant UK Government security clearance in line with the job role (SC).

Other Requirements
You will be required to travel within the UK to other Northrop Grumman offices and less frequently to our offices within EMEA or the US as required.
