Systems Engineer
Location: New Malden (hybrid working)
Salary: £65,000 – £72,000

The Opportunity
Join our Defence Systems Engineering team and take a central role in delivering critical projects for UK national security. Your expertise will support systems spanning multi-domain command and control (C2), leveraging your influence on technical quality and programme success.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, conduct, and deliver systems engineering work packages across the project lifecycle
- Create and review technical documentation, meeting programme schedules
- Plan and deliver key design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
- Oversee supplier technical integration, ensuring requirement alignment and design baselines
- Review customer/supplier documentation, providing challenges and assurance
- Collaborate with Hardware, Mechanical, Software, V&V (Verification & Validation), ILS (Integrated Logistics Support), Cybersecurity, and Safety teams
- Provide technical leadership to deliver work packages on time, to cost, and to quality
- Support risk management, opportunity assessments, bids, proposals, and estimation activities

Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree in Systems, Software, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in systems engineering within defence, maritime, aerospace, or a regulated environment
- Experience with system requirements, design, integration, acceptance, and analysis
- Knowledge of controls systems, PLC/S 음ADS A, and operational technology
- Experience in Model-Based Design and tools such as Enterprise Architect
- Strong stakeholder communication and influence skills
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
- Understanding of marine environments, environmental standards, and safety-related systems
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of V&V activities (including environmental and EMC testing)
- INCOSE CSEP or ASE accreditation
