Reports to: Executive Partner – Technology Business, Office of the Chief Technology Officer (OCTO)
About the Role
You will lead technology transformation and growth within a Pearson business unit, serving in the Office of the CTO by collaborating with business leaders to deliver strategic technology leadership and partnerships.

In this pivotal position, your responsibilities will include guiding strategic integration of technology within business units, acting as a trusted advisor to both OCTO (Office of the Chief Technology Officer) and business stakeholders, and delivering measurable business outcomes through technology leadership.
Candidates must be future-focused and demonstrate an ability to combine deep technical expertise with large-scale operational leadership, ensuring impact across a future-focused workplace.

What You’ll Do
Strategic Alignment
- Partner closely with business unit leaders to understand objectives, challenges, market context, and technology needs.
- Translate business priorities into technology strategies and roadmaps, ensuring seamless alignment between OCTO initiatives and business unit goals.
Engineering & Delivery Leadership
- Lead cutting-edge technology initiatives in collaboration with engineering, product, architecture, and platform teams.
- Implement strong governance, operational rigour, and modern engineering practices to achieve measurable business outcomes.
Technology Advisory & Oversight
- Provide expert guidance on key areas such as:
- Technology investment strategies
- Emerging cloud platforms
- Software engineering
- AI/ML applications
- Cybersecurity
- Effective management of tech vendors and partners
