Barbican, London | Hybrid Working (1 day per week in office) | Fixed Term Contract: 6 Months | Full-Time

About the Role
As Principal Technology Delivery Manager, you'll play a pivotal leadership role in delivering the technology, digital and data initiatives that enable this ambition.
Leading delivery across a significant portfolio of programmes and projects, you'll drive outcomes, remove barriers, and ensure our teams consistently deliver high-quality solutions that make a real difference to our colleagues, customers and patients.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role, combining strategic portfolio oversight with the ability to step into complex delivery challenges and drive them to successful resolution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of technology, digital and data initiatives, ensuring delivery is on time, within budget and of the highest quality.
- Provide portfolio-level governance, reporting and assurance, maintaining real-time visibility of delivery progress, benefits realisation, risks and financial performance.
- Act as the senior escalation point for delivery challenges, proactively removing blockers and resolving cross-functional issues.
- Own portfolio budgeting, forecasting and financial management, ensuring investment decisions support strategic priorities and deliver value.
- Lead capacity planning and resource management across the Unit, balancing demand and capability to optimise delivery outcomes.
- Line manage, coach and develop Delivery Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
- Champion best practice across agile and project delivery methodologies, driving a benefits-focused approach and raising delivery capability across Technology.

Requirements
To succeed as a Principal Technology Delivery Manager, you’ll bring:
- Significant experience leading complex technology portfolios and programmes within large-scale environments.
- Proven leadership of Delivery Managers and high-performing delivery teams.
- Strong expertise in financial management, resource planning and supplier/vendor management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at senior and executive levels.
- Demonstrable success driving delivery excellence, continuous improvement and measurable business outcomes.
