Job Description
About the Role
The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates the growth of its Water Business in the UK, we are building a high-performing multidisciplinary team covering a wide range of services including Flood Risk, Civil Engineering, Nature based Solutions and Hydraulic Modelling; we are going to work for clients both in the regulated and non-regulated sectors including water companies, energy providers, developers and local government among others.
We are looking for an experienced wastewater modeller to take a lead role in developing our services, mainly for water companies, in relation to urban drainage and sewer modelling, supporting them and informing their asset investment decisions through their optioneering and detail design phases.
This is a rare opportunity to join Egis at a key stage of our UK growth journey, helping to shape and expand a wastewater modelling capability in the UK, built on Egis’ global infrastructure expertise and long-term commitment to the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Take a leading role in developing our Infoworks ICM network modelling expertise, promoting best practice and innovation
- Promote the use of blue and green infrastructure in addition to traditional engineering solutions; champion the use of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)
- Mentor less experienced colleagues supervising the quality of deliverables
- Work with our teams across the UK, Ireland and France to develop and deliver a range of hydraulic modelling services to our clients
- Provide technical and expert advice to clients, manage and deliver projects
- Support business development opportunities, contribution to tenders and proposals
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders
- Collaborate with wider Egis teams to develop market leading and innovative services to our clients
- Participate in industry events, seminars and conferences. Showcase Egis technical capability and project experience.

Qualifications
Areas of Past Experience
- Experience developing, verifying/calibrating and checking/reviewing Infoworks ICM models for wastewater and urban drainage networks; experience in water quality modelling would be useful but not essential
- Good understanding of hydrological assessment and analysis (e.g. FEH, ReFH)
- An interest and experience in developing digital tools to promote hydraulic modelling efficiency. Knowledge of scripting / automation (e.g. Python, Ruby etc) advantageous
- Experience with other hydraulic modelling packages would be beneficial e.g. Tuflow, Mike, Flood Modeller Pro
- Experience in flood risk modelling, assessment and mapping would also be beneficial

Qualifications
- BSc/Eng or MSc/Eng in Civil, Water or Environmental Engineering disciplines
- 8+ years of experience
- Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar.
- Demonstrable client, contractor or consultancy experience in UK Water Sector
- Demonstrable knowledge of regulator (e.g. Environment Agency), modelling requirements and technical standards
