Role Overview
- Type: Permanent, Full-Time
- Hours: Mon–Fri (flexible hours considered)
- Salary: Up to £33,336 per annum + Excellent Benefits Package
About the Role
As a Prison Offender Manager in our Offender Management Unit, your critical work will drive safer futures for low-to-medium-risk individuals in custody, supporting rehabilitation, resettlement, and community safety.
You’ll lead and shape pathways for rehabilitation through:
- Managing offender assessments (OASys)
- Coordinating sentence planning with colleagues and partner agencies
- Supporting education, interventions, and release transitions
Key Responsibilities
Every day, you’ll:
- Manage offender assessments (interviews, case notes, OASys risk categorisations within deadlines)
- Lead sentence planning and ensure structured coordination with external organisations and probation teams
- ** Guide resettlement timelines** (curfews, licence exits, temporary release requests)
- Provide expert reports and advice to criminal justice bodies and stakeholders
- Support offender engagement in therapeutic, vocational, and digital behaviours programmes
- Collaborate cross-functionally, from legal teams to educational providers

Essential Skills & Experience
To thrive in this role we’re looking for:
- Attention to detail in multi-tasking high-volumes of administrative and analytical responsibilities
- Clear communications skills for engaging offenders, colleagues, and external partners
- Confidence with IT (case workflow systems, document management)
- Emotional resilience, de-escalation expertise, and the ability to perform under tight timeframes
- Aligned with Serco’s values—we assess potential as much as experience.
