His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service

An extraordinary job. Done by someone like you

Prison Officer Opportunities – HMP Full Sutton

Salary: £33,746 - £38,003

Prison officers play a vital role in protecting the public and helping to make a positive impact on people’s lives.

If you possess integrity, skills, and strength of character, this dynamic role could be the start of a successful career. No two days or situations are the same. And as you gain experience, opportunities begin to grow and develop into something special.

Someone Like You

We’re not looking for a "typical" prison officer. Our team comes from diverse backgrounds—whether you’re a parent, teacher, retail worker, or have served in the armed forces. You’ll have built empathy, self-confidence, and exceptional communication skills through your experiences. Your role will involve building constructive, positive, and professional relationships with offenders who may be at their lowest point.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
