Location: HMP Erlestoke Salary: £30,491

About the Role
As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy prison within His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service. Your role will include:
- Security and search operations at the gate
- Managing deliveries
- Supervising visitors
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV
- Escorting vehicles across the prison grounds
- Balancing desk duties with more physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying and walking
This varied and active role offers a foundation for a potentially successful career, provided you are a good communicator and capable of staying calm under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining a safe and operational prison environment
- Support security functions and access control
- Work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Occasionally interact with prisoners, depending on prison requirements
- Gain experience supporting other operational roles within the prison

Work Schedule
You will be required to work a range of shifts, including weekend nights, to ensure uninterrupted prison operations.
