About the Role

As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the day-to-day operations of a busy prison. Your responsibilities include:
- Security and searches at the gate
- Managing deliveries and overseeing visitor supervision
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV footage
- Escorting vehicles across prison grounds
- Handling both desk-based and physical tasks (e.g. lifting, carrying, walking)
This is a fast-paced, varied role combining administrative and manual duties in a dynamic environment.

Working across shifts (including nights and weekends), your contributions will directly support prison safety and operational efficiency.
What You’ll Achieve

While interaction with prisoners may be limited, this role offers deeper insight into prison systems. It may also serve as a stepping stone to progression paths, including the OSG-to-Prison Officer conversion scheme.
