Prison Support - HMP Erlestoke
Prison Support Role – Operational Support Grade (OSG)
Location: HMP Erlestoke Salary: £30,491

As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of a busy prison. Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting security at the prison gates
- Conducting searches when necessary
- Managing deliveries and supplies
- Supervising prison visitors
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV
- Escorting and assisting with ground-shift activities, which may include lifting, carrying and walking to move vehicles across the prison grounds
The role combines desk-based tasks with more physical work, offering a varied and active working environment.

About the Role
Your primary responsibilities involve ensuring smooth, secure, and efficient prison operations. You’ll:
- Demonstrate good judgment, common sense, and adaptability
- Be a key team player and collaborative support
Unusually offers limited direct interaction with prisoners—though this may vary depending on the specific prison. Working across shifts including weekends and nights, you’ll help maintain the prison’s safety and stability.
