About the Role
As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will form a vital part of a prison’s operations support team. Your responsibilities will vary and include:
- Assisting with security tasks (e.g., managing gate searches)
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV feeds
- Facilitating deliveries and prisoner movements
- Guiding visiting visitors through admissions procedures
- Performing escort duties (including physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, and driving vehicles)
- Conducting desk-based administrative work
The role blends both physical and office-based activities in a dynamic environment where your common sense, adaptability, and teamwork will be essential.

Remuneration
- Base salary: £29,432 per annum
Leave Entitlements
- 25 days annual leave (pro-rata for part-time) on appointment
- Increase to 30 days after 10 years’ service
- Plus: 9 days of bank/public/statutory holidays
