Prison Support Role – Operational Support Grade (OSG)
Role Overview
Location: HMP Grendon/Springhill Salary: £29,432 Employer: His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service

As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will contribute significantly to the smooth, daily running of a busy prison. Your responsibilities will include a diverse range of essential tasks:
- Conducting security and searches at the gate
- Managing deliveries and goods
- Supervising prisoner visitors
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV
- Supporting with desk-based duties
- Participating in physical tasks, such as:
- Lifting and carrying equipment
- Escorting prisoners in vehicles across prison grounds
This role offers a fast-paced, varied, and active environment where organisation, adaptability, and teamwork are key.

Working across a wide range of shifts—including weekends and nights—you will keep operations running seamlessly.
A Key Requirement: Driving Duties
Driving is a core part of the OSG role at HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill. Candidates must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
