As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you’ll be the backbone of a busy prison, assisting with daily operations that keep inmates secure and the facility functioning. This varied role involves:
- Security & gate duties (searches, access control)
- Visitor supervision (ensuring controlled and safe interaction)
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV
- Managing deliveries and supplies
- Escorting personnel and Chriss (physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and movement across prison grounds)
- Driving duties (essential for the role at both prisons)
The role blends desk-based tasks with physical activities, creating a dynamic and hands-on environment.

Full Job Requirements
- A full, valid UK driving licence is mandatory (driving duties are core responsibility).
- No specific qualifications are necessary—experience and attitude matter most.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, including weekends, nights, and public holidays.
