As an Operational Support Grade (OSG), you will play a key part in supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy prison. Your role will involve a mix of tasks, including:
- Security and searches at the gate
- Managing deliveries
- Supervising visitors
- Monitoring phone calls and CCTV
- Escorting vehicles across prison grounds
This is a varied and active position, combining both desk-based responsibilities and more physical duties such as lifting, carrying, and walking.

About the Role
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the prison runs smoothly and safely, demonstrating:
- Good judgement and common sense
- Strong teamwork skills
As an OSG, you will work across various shifts, including weekends and nights.
Driving duties are a key part of this role at HMP Grendon and HMP Springhill, so you must hold a full, valid UK driving licence.
