Taylor Root is looking for a Privacy Manager to join a growing second-line risk and oversight function within a highly regulated financial services organisation.

This newly created role will be instrumental in strengthening and embedding the data privacy and governance framework, ensuring compliance with GDPR and wider data management requirements, while helping shape a developing capability area with significant future potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance and maintain data governance policies, frameworks, and controls.
  • Support the implementation of data governance and data mapping initiatives.
  • Monitor compliance and identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Provide practical privacy guidance and challenge to operational teams.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and influence key stakeholders.
  • Report insights and recommendations through governance forums and committees.

We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has strong knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, Data Use & Access Act, PECR, and broader data protection frameworks, with the ability to apply these in a practical business context.
  • Thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys building capability from the ground up.
  • Can balance advisory support with independent oversight and challenge.
  • Is confident engaging with senior stakeholders and governance committees.
  • Wants to play a key role in shaping a growing strategic function.

Salary: £65-£80,000 depending on levels of experience

Location: 2 days per week in the office in Leeds
